Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the process of formation of transnational cooperation between European Christian Democrats in the interwar period and after the Second World War (i.e., in the 1919–1945 period). The author assumes that after the Second World War there would not have been a lively activities and cooperation of Christian democratic parties, if not the experience in this field of their predecessors – parties of Christian inspiration and their transnational organizations. In the article, the author will present successively: the genesis of cooperation between the Christian Democrats in the early twentieth century, trials of their rapprochement during and after the First World War, the process of creation of the International Secretariat of the Parties of Christian inspiration, the structure and importance of this organization and – in the last part – the nature of the cooperation of Christian Democrats in exile.
