Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the force loading schemes of one-sided, double-sided and annular drills with interchangeable inserts used in modern mechanical engineering.Data are provided for the contact load in the cutting zone as well as the results obtained for the strength characteristics of different cross-sections of the bodies, which in practice determine the shape and dimensions of the chip excretory channels.
