Society of equality or enslaved by datafication?

Summary/Abstract: In the age of information society the technological progress creates opportunities for collecting, storing and analyzing large sets of data (Big Data). They are not collected when conducting separate research, but through electronic tools, often beyond the awareness of their providers. The article presents the characteristics of a new methodology in the social sciences in the form of the BigData, which is a datafication process involving collecting information about everything, even about something that is not taken into account as a data source. There is also an issue of consequence of such freedom of information for individuals living in the information society.
