Summary/Abstract: In the article there have been analyzed socio-cultural aspects of animation in tourism, its role in the process of cultural environment formation. There have been defined functions and socio-cultural potential of recreational and tourist animation. The conclusion has been made as for the necessity of animation technologies implementation into the practice of Ukrainian tourism.
