Summary/Abstract: One of the main fields of studies within the framework of second language teaching methodology is an analysis of linguistic errors which constitute characteristic phenomenon of different stages throughout the teaching process. Although an error is a systematic deviation from the linguistic norm, it also seems to be an essential step in the second language acquisition. The main aim of this article is to present and analyse the most frequent errors occurring in essays written by Polish students. The analysis concentrates on morphosyntacic errors, since morphosyntax can be considered an area in which the greatest difficulties are to be noticed. The author describes and analyses errors in two problematic areas, namely in the use of articles and past tenses.
