Summary/Abstract: Purpose – It seems that there is nothing more certain and stable as a business location. However, location decisions are usually taken without complete and reliable information about the real value and spatial potential of localization. The aim of the article is to analyze the location risk of in case of small enterprise in theoretical terms, and try to determine its significance in decision-making. Design/methodology/approach – The essence of location risk will be described basing on Polish literature. The assessment of entrepreneurs perception in the area of location risk are the results of a survey conducted in 2015 on a random sample of 246 micro and small companies operating in the suburban areas of the Tri-City Metropolitan Area. Originality/value – The Polish literature on the economic analysis rarely taken in detail the issue of environment analysis, in particular the aspect of location, although it seems that the location decisions influence on a company financial condition not only in short, but also in the long term. Moreover, location decisions are associated most often with significant investment costs and affect the value of the company, in the field of tangible and intangible assets. For this reason, it is worth paying more attention to the issue of location analysis in publications in the field of economic analysis.
