Summary/Abstract: Starting from January 2012, the main supporter of Society and Economy in Central and Eastern Europe, Corvinus University of Budapest, has a new rector, Professor Zsolt Rostoványi, appointed by the President of Hungary for the next four and half years. Professor Rostoványi emphasized in his inaugural speech the importance of high quality publications, education and the strengthening of the international scientific and educational network of Corvinus University. In order to achieve these goals the rector showed his commitment for maintaining and improving this journal and encouraged the editorial board and the editors to continue their work.
