Summary/Abstract: The article was discussed one of the instruments of trade policy, which is also an instrument of intervention of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) the European Union (EU) – export subsidies. In the first part of the article was discussed the problems related to the ongoing negotiations for several years, the World Trade Organization (WTO) on subsidized exports of agri-food products. In the next part it focuses on the economic analysis of this mechanism and its impact on the economy. Polish exporters could, on an equal footing with the EU, use of subsidies to exports of agri-food products to third countries from the beginning of our membership in the EU. They improved the price competitiveness of exported goods, and on ways of getting rid of surplus of those products during the period of overproduction. In connection with the WTO commitments and the change of the financing by the European Commission CAP they were gradually reduced until they complete suspension in 2013. This paper reviews the literature and an analysis of the problem, which uses the method of statistical and descriptive.
