Summary/Abstract: There is a broad debate about bio-science, genetic medicine, the possibility and practice of cloning going on for already several years. Bill Joy is criticizing the nexus of economy and new bio-techniques and depicting catastrophic future, if this development takes its one way. Would it be reasonable to ponder upon some sort of preventive jurisprudence to deter inhumane consequences of the bio-technological revolution? The debates can also be seen as somewhat superficial. The question to deal with is a fundamental problem that should be called “the problem of modern sciences”. Ethical and religious approaches are not sufficient in grasping the problem and developing some solutions. What is needed is a creative renewal of questions once put by Husserl and Heidegger that seek to come to the very essence of the problem of modern sciences and the historic bases of the modern world.
