Summary/Abstract: This article investigates the problem of the existence of traces and relicts of the ancient idea about the unity and the continuity of space and time in Bulgarian traditional folk culture, the idea of space- and time continuum. These traces are revealed by the historical reconstruction method, applied mainly on ritual complexes, connected with the transition to a new natural or sociocultural state (i. e. the winter customs from Christmas to St. Jordan's Day; or the spring ones from Shrovetide to Easter), and on some other customs and rituals, as well. Relicts from the mentioned ancient notions about the space and time continuity are discovered not only on the sacral level, but also on the "prophane", everyday-life sphere of Bulgarian people, and mainly in the traditional metronomy. In this way the main thesis is approved — the idea of the unity and continuity of space and time has left enduring traces in Bulgarian traditional folk culture.
