Competence Assessment as a Tool of Guarantee the Working Safety in Construction Company

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The aim of the study is definition the impact of the competence of employees on the work safety obtained. The assessment of the competence of reference to the specifics of construction companies. Design/Methodology/approach – The study was conducted by using an original method of evaluation based on 32 criteria for competence. Using the obtained values of the partial evaluation designate the competence index that determines the employment possibility of an employee at the workplace or need to improvement activities undertake. Findings – In this paper described problem an influence of competence on working safety. It was recognized that employee competencies are an important criterion for its employment opportunities. The specificity of the considerations referred to the construction companies. Originality/value – Methodology used to describe the conformity enables evaluation the competence of the employee with the competence required, allowing employ the employee in the work-place. Also, it can be used to indicate reasonable to make improvement activities, increasing the company's ability to carry out the tasks of construction.
