Summary/Abstract: The Pacific Alliance was established in 2011 as a regional integration initiative of four Latin American countries, i.e. Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. Among priorities of cooperation there are as follows: promotion of trade, investment, tourism, the establishment of joint embassies, as well as integration of capital markets. The key challenges for PA are, among others, limited scope of trade interdependencies between members, the imprecise membership criteria, and the Asian domination in trans-Pacific economic architecture. The aim of the article is to study origins, key attributes and challenges of Pacific Alliance, taking into account the perspective of the Asia-Pacific region. The article uses the following research methods: primary source analysis, statistical-descriptive analysis, comparative analysis.
