Elements of the Security Audit of Special Events on the Example of the NATO Summit and the World Youth Days

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – An analysis of the implementation of internal audit ex ante in the field of security of special events on the example of the NATO Summit and the World Youth Days. Design/methodology/approach – Research was done with the use of risk maps in the internal audit – to identify needs and diagnose the risk at the level of data collected from executives and persons designated to protect the participants of special events. Findings – On the basis of the analysis performed with the use of risk maps, the information about potential risks and their impact on the organization of security of special events was obtained. In addition, the article discusses the planned tasks, areas of responsibility and includes an analysis of the diagnosed risk. Originality/value – The material presented in the article allows for an objective and independent familiarization with the issue and making substantive conclusions regarding designed actual situation and threat in the area of the diagnosed risk.
