Summary/Abstract: The article publishes the results of the archaeological dig led on Taraktash III settlement, found on the north-western slope of the Taraktash range in South-Eastern Crimea. The archaeological research included the cultural layer of the settlement, several hearths and household pits, and uncovered numerous earthenware (pottery, amphorae of different types are particularly interesting), items of glass, iron and bronze, among which a bronze Roman coin of Emperor Theodosius I (379-395) emitted in 383-388. Based on these finds, the authors date Taraktash III by late 4th century – 450 A.D. and explain the decline of this settlement by political activities of the Huns in Eastern Crimea.
