Summary/Abstract: By the agreement between Austria and Hungary, which established the dual system, the Romanian and Serbian people, the ancient inhabitants of the territory of Banat, have been deprived for the most basic rights, pressed by the forced denationalization. However, by common solidarity, conditions for progress in all branches of spiritual manifestation have been created, especially in culture, by fondation of magazines and newspappers. The Banat was under Habsburg rule until 1918, and newspapers and magazines had a common circulation throughout the territory inhabited by Romanians. Later, as the first newspapers and magazines appeared in Serbian Banat in romanian language, some of them have published information about the Great Union. This paper reviews the most popular means of information on the territory of Banat until the Great Union, which have greatly contributed to the development of cultural, educational and religious life.
