Summary/Abstract: Reading skills are one of the basic skills areas of language teaching. For that reason, it is an important field that is emphasized in the process of mother language and foreign language teaching. In this sense, reading skill is a skill area that requires complex mental processes. It is expected that the reading should be fluent in order to fulfill this skill. Since fluency reading is an important variable that affects the concept as it is in the field. Studies on the learners who learn other languages as a foreign languages show both fluent word reading and fluent text reading are related to the comprehension. However, in the following periods, fluent text reading seems to be more related to the comprehension. How is the situation in terms of students learning Turkish as a foreign language? This question forms the basis of the research. As a result of the research process, both fluent word reading and fluent text reading were found to be related to the level of comprehension of Turkish students as foreign language learners. On the other hand, unlike the literature, fluent word reading is more related to the comprehension.
