Summary/Abstract: This article deals with relations between the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and the Natural Sciences Faculty at Charles University in Prague in the field of chemicals research. The text briefly deals with the establishment and development of CSAS during the 1950s and 1960s, recalling the higher education reforms of 1950, which had an influence on the development of chemistry studies and scientific research at universities. Most space, however, is devoted to the question of relations between the Natural Sciences Faculty at Charles University in Prague and CSAS, which was transforming under Czechoslovak science policy during the 1950s and 1960s.
