The Activity of Nature Conservation Guards and their Competences in Poland, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze provisions concerning the activity of nature guards in Poland, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The National Park Guard which functions in Poland is a specific subject. Similarly to other Polish nature guards, the National Park Guards was created using police design. Such a solution is the materialization of the legislator’s intent to assure specialization and professionalism of nature guards. Therefore, Polish nature guards are uniformed and armed formations empowered to extensive intrusion in the freedoms and rights of persons and citizens. Other solutions were presented in Czech and Slovak legislation. The authors have used comparative law method to describe the matter of activity of nature conservation guards in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, presenting the model of activity of nature guards different from the Polish one.
