Summary/Abstract: The local self-government is the entity of public authority which participates in exercising public authority because of its legal interest. The tasks of local self-government are exercised in its own name and under its own responsibility. The Constitution of the Republic of Poland does not specify the structure of local self-government in Poland. The aim of the article titled "The reform of local administration in Poland - legal and sociological conditions and expectations" is the legal assessment of the functioning of district self-government in Poland and the assessment of the District Self-government Act.
