Evaluation of Eastern European Countries in Terms of Economic Freedoms with Cluster Analysis

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to classify East European countries according to the economic freedom index for the 2015 year. In this study, it was used “property rights, freedom from corruption, fiscal freedom, government spending, business freedom, labor freedom, monetary freedom, trade freedom, investment freedom, financial freedom index” which were created by the Heritage Foundation. Clustering analysis was used as a method.These countries were clustered into 4 sets based on the hierarchical clustering analysis by using the 10 economic freedom index of 23 countries. Turkey is in the 3rd group among these countries. The third group contains Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Croatia, Montenegro, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Cyprus and Turkey.
