Summary/Abstract: The author of the essay Could you tell me please, what is art de vivre? Éva Székely was born and educated in Romania, worked in Hungary and has been living in France for the last ten years. In her writing, she compares her experience in the two regions: the ways in which people in Eastern-Europe and France relate to work, their own rights and oppression. She tries to argue that work should not interfere with people’s dignity; it should​ not ruin people’s quality of life. And if it does, the situation has to be changed.
