Summary/Abstract: This article discusses examples of percentages in the archaeological research of pottery from the Neolithic period. The use of percentage reports does not always lead to correct results, and thus significantly reduces the value of the authors’ conclusions and undermines the credibility of their study. In order to correct this situation, researchers need to accompany the samples used in their studies by information on the size of the samples in question and the way they were computed. This allows one to calculate the empirical percentage of probable error (ΔP) and the confidence intervals (min-max).
