Contributions to the history of archaeological research in Macea, the settlement in Topila (Arad County)

Summary/Abstract: By publishing the archaeological correspondence – two letters by Dr. Ferenc Kovács, formerprofessor at Dorobanţi (Arad County), addressed to Dr. Zoltán Székely – related to the archaeological site Topila,from Macea, we try to elucidate the error that has crept in literature about the history of a small excavationconducted in 1955 on this site. In order to assist fellow archaeologists interested of this geographical area, theauthor publishes artifacts from Topila that are kept in the deposit of Székely National Archaeological Museum.
