Archaeozoological Data Regarding the Osteological Material from the Baden Settlement in Sântana “Cetatea Veche” (Arad County)

Summary/Abstract: The archaeofauna material discovered in the Baden settlement in Sântana “Cetatea Veche” hasbeen uncovered during the archaeological excavation campaigns performed in 2009 and 2011. The 123 determinedbone remains belong both to domestic and wild species. Traces of human processing have been identifiedon some of the fragments. The proportion between domestic and wild animals is of 60.9 to 39.8 %, accordingto the number of remains (NISP) and of 91 to 9 %, according to the minimum number of estimated individuals(MNI). The following species have been identified through the archaeozoological analysis: Bos taurus L., Ovis etCapra, Sus domesticus Erxl., Equus caballus L., Canis familiaris L., and Cervus elaphus L.
