Summary/Abstract: The point of Bobald is known for the Middle Bronze Age fortified settlement. In 1997/2000, during to the archaeologi- cal diggins from Carei-Bobald in a refuse pit (S.X., Gr.1) dacian ceramic fragments, metal objects, ash, animal bones, fire- place and coal fragments were discovered. Based on a broken brooch and analogies, the pit was dated from 1st Century A.D. The present paper focuses about the osteological remains found following the pit unveiling. From a total of 226 bones, only 90 fragments were identified. The following species were identified: bovines, capriovids, domestic swine, equine, canids and wild boar. The most part of the remains belong to domestic animals. The small archaeofaunal sample looks like a kitchen waste and some of the bones are burnt on the surface. Two skulls and an mandible with pathological signs belonging to dog were also recorded. On the basis of metrical data, it was possible to estimate the existence of a a small-medium individual, another medium-sized and one medium to large.
