Summary/Abstract: Performing a nationwide research on the image of CRM implementation in small and medium Polish companies requires a lot of preparation and a carefully designed research tool. A comprehensive solution has been proposed that, with appropriate funding, will allow for such a research. The paper indicates the prerequisites for carrying out this research. There are pointed out shortcomings in the current state of knowledge about the use of the CRM concept in the SME sector. The objectives of the research, the research hypotheses and the methodology of the research including the research method, the selection of the research sample, the time and method of the study are presented. These considerations may help to construct similar studies in the future.
