The factors determining the decision of settling down in rural areas based on the self-conducted research

Summary/Abstract: The article presents selected results of a survey research performed in the rural areas of the urban- rural commune Ozimek in 2014 among persons who had their houses built or rebuilt in the years 1998–2014, as well as among the village leaders. The analysis has been enriched with data concerning the building permits for residential buildings issued in the years 2002–2020 and buildings delivered in this commune in the years 1995–2013. The results obtained have enabled the author to specify the factors determining the decision of settling down in a rural area and to recognise the preferences in the choice of the locality in a rural area or the previous place of abode
