Summary/Abstract: The minimum wage increased by 30% as of January 2016. How this increase will be reflected in the economy and businesses have been a matter of debate. Within the scope of this study, a survey was conducted on a total of 207 firms in order to evaluate the abnormal increase of the minimum wage in terms of sectors and business sizes in relation to the perceptions of the managers of the companies operating in Çorum and macroeconomic factors. The study is important to explain how the sector representatives perceive the outcome as an unevaluated situation. As a result of the study, it is observed that small enterprises are more sensitive to increases in minimum wages and that this increase will affect production costs, informal employment, unemployment and investments in the negative. On the other hand, it has come to the conclusion that medium- and large-scale enterprises have to benefit from economies of scale and that there will be no increase in production costs and that they will not lead to unemployment because they do not tend to withdraw workers and therefore will not lead to informal employment.
