Summary/Abstract: In socialist Romania one of the most important administrative measures taken on the field of youth politics was organizing and controlling the free time of young people. Authorities tried in various ways to make holidays „useful”. Some students were involved in patriotic work, others(especially those who previously excelled in pioneer activities) were sent to pioneer camps for further education. One of the most important camps organized in the Szekler region was at Homorod, where every year hundreds of students spent their „summer holiday”.
