Summary/Abstract: A purpose of the article is to present the differences of attitudes of young Poles in the tourist market. The paper has a theoretical-empirical character. In the first part the functions of tourism for the young man were briefly characterized. Next, the fundamental determinants of youth participation in tourist traffic were outlined, as well as the factors influencing their behavior during travel were identified. The results of research on the tourist activity of the Poles carried out in 2009 by employees of the Tourism Department Krakow University of Economics were the empirical part of work.
