Challenges and opportunities of new media in education

Summary/Abstract: Before the existence of network society, Gutenberg was probably the first to bring one of the biggest changes in his times. The acceleration of communication, swap of information produced an utterly new lifestyle. The methods used in pedagogy have changed, as well as the relation between teachers and students,the function and forms of collective work. Slowly, the teacher has to transform into a PR manager,the school into an organization. In my presentation I will try to answer a few questions, based on the example of several schools from Cluj-Napoca, such as: why is this sudden development good for the educational system and why can we consider having internet connection, discovering the world of Web 2.0 a potential?
