Summary/Abstract: The Madrid, London and Boston bombings are only three examples, but probably the ones with the highest social impact, of the terrorist attacks where the leading role was played by the internet. Countering online radicalization is the most arduous challenge, since the 9/11 events, that security services around the world have faced in their fight against terrorism. At a time when the number of propaganda sites, forums, materials and zealots was increasing in the virtual environement, Edward Snowden decided to reveal how the United States Government was violating the privacy of millions of citizens, from America and abroad.
