Summary/Abstract: Aesthetics have to decide what elements of the reality will be declined and what will be kept.As fil aesthetics is essentially wishing to preserve the illusion of reality, we come to a contradiction. For a realist is unconcievable to select among the elements of reality, but it is also necessary, as art can exist only through this decision. At the end of the selecting process reality will be replaced by the illusion of reality. The study deals on how the relation between reality and its illusion changed through the history of the cinema.
