Attempt to use the DEA method in evaluating the effectiveness of insurance companies of group II

Summary/Abstract: In the paper the author used the non-parametric method DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) to evaluate the effectiveness of insurance companies operating in Poland. Results: Based on the literature study the author shows general assumptions of the DEA method. According to the data published by the Polish Insurance Association from 2012 to 2015, the effectiveness of insurance companies was estimated. Effective and ineffective units have been indicated. Originality/value: The author attempts to reflect on the criteria for assessing the effectiveness of insurance companies.
