Summary/Abstract: Contemporary economy often referred to as the new one (service, postmodernist) is characterized by high dynamics of socio-economic transformations, especially spatial ones, and is connected with an increase in the importance of urban areas. These phenomena are constantly accompanied by the urbanization process as the dominant, seeking and shaping new trends in urban development. At the same time manifesting itself in the dissemination of the urban lifestyle, it adopted such an extent and scope that the majority of the socio-economic space of highly developed countries shows urbanized forms of economy. This means that there is accumulation of economic activity in strictly closed areas (large cities) and its impact on the environment is not uniform, which strongly emphasizes the impact of urbanization on the level of socio-economic development of particular areas, including its differentiation. Thus, certain trends and disparities are reflected in the urban landscape in a given socio-economic space (eg. region).
