Summary/Abstract: The proclamation of the message of salvation in Jesus Christ is the fundamental mission of the Church, which continues the work of Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, so that all may be saved. One of the zealous preachers of the Gospel was a priest of the Diocese of Łomża, Rev. Kazimierz Skowroński, pastor of the parish of Chorzele. The article is an analysis of eleven sermons delivered on the Solemnity of Pentecost. It can be noted that the homilies are built on the dialogic-existential model, which became widespread in Poland after the II Vatican Council. Homilies according to this model consist of: the listeners’ life experience, kerygma, Christian response to the heard word of God. It was found that Rev. Skowroński actualized quite well the Word of God, correctly gave the kerygma concerning the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church, gave specific instructions on how to act. Using rhetorical questions, referring to the statements of the Bible, the teachings of the Church and different people – he could be in a saving dialog with the faithful, which probably facilitated the reception of the homily content by those listening. Thus, on the basis of the analyzed homilies, we can say that Rev. Skowroński was a zealous preacher, who wished that Christians not lose their identity – their faith in Christ, just as salt should not lose its flavor.
