Summary/Abstract: In this text, I have analyzed the work of Archbishop Józef Życiński from the apologetic point of view. I have shown that interdisciplinarity, which was a characteristic of his intellectual attitude, allowed him to fully recognize the ways of thinking of the modern world. He used this to engage in a very active dialogue, while remembering his own origins and seeing reality in the perspective of faith. It also helped him to defend what is the very core of Christianity. Attempting to present the apologetic issues, so frequently present in the work of the Archbishop, I discovered what in his way of thinking seems indispensable today in order not to replace rational faith with irrational pseudo-religiosity. Christian apologetics (which is revealed in the essays of the deceased Archbishop of Lublin), fully recognizes the contemporary context of faith, and seeks answers and inspiration in the Revelation. Życiński’s texts are full of confidence that Christianity employed and still employs an understandable and precise language. The Archbishop himself wants to be a prophet, a protector and a witness of God’s beauty. Being fascinated by the Incarnation, he would like to save the Sense.
