The motif of plague in Serbian narrative prose

It was not a plague, but a wrath of God

Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims at presenting the way in which the narration regarding the plague was built on the base of the works of a few representative Serbian authors from different times sand how the narration changed depending on the author and the social and historical context. Our interpretation shows that in the analysed texts regarding the plague narration we can recognize the same ethnological essence which can be linked to mythical interpretations and ancient traditions.
