Summary/Abstract: The article considers strike weapons which were discovered on ancient archaeological sites between the Upper Prut and the Middle Dniester area. Short distance weapons by their use can be divided into strike-piercing, strike-slashing, and, additionally, strike-pounding. The author offers a typology of such weapons as spear, pike, axes, maces and flails and suggests broad analogies with other related areas. It implies that the warfare on the researched territory was highly developed and close contact with other lands of Ancient Rus’.
