Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to analyze the contemporary conditionality of the process of Shareholder Value Creation in the context of the assumptions and principles of the concept of Value Based Management. The reflections were based on a critical analysis of the contemporary literature of the subject, and the author’s own research and experience in economic practice. As the conclusion of the investigations presented, both the impact of the VBM concept on the efficiency of the Shareholder Value Creation process and the partial divergences between the objectives and the actions under both concepts can be identified.
