Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to determine the factors influencing the purchase of insurance in the light of the achievements of behavioural economics. The article attempts to present the factors influencing the decision to buy insurance. These factors were determined on the basis of an analytical literature review. They were divided into rational and emotional factors. It was found that in analysing the importance of factors influencing the demand for insurance, it is important to consider not only the rational but also the emotional ones that are presented in the theory of perspective and behavioural life cycle hypothesis. This allows for more reliable research and a more accurate and reliable model of consumer behaviour.
