Summary/Abstract: The article presents the budgetary revenue, expenditure, surplus, deficit and debt of the town of Konin compared to other cities with the status of a district in Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) and Poland and identifies the main problems and challenges in the field of financial management faced by district municipalities in the coming years. The results of the analysis allowed to formulate several key conclusions and observations. Firstly, Konin is characterized by high budgetary revenue and expenditure per capita in comparison with district municipalities. However, the structure of revenue and expenditure is disadvantageous. Secondly, the budgetary deficit per capita is not large and the debt is at a very low level compared to other cities in Greater Poland and Poland. Thirdly, Konin is characterized by a relatively favorable financial situation compared to other municipalities in Greater Poland, in particular in comparison with Kalisz and Leszno.
