Declaration of faith and the level of religious knowledge among youths – survey report

Summary/Abstract: It is a common practice for research centers to conduct surveys concerning the condition of faith and religiosity of contemporary Poles. The results of research made by those centers, as well as church institutions, undoubtedly provide a valuable tip potentially useful in searching for new solutions in the field of priestly and evangelistic influence of the Church. Special attention is of course given to children and youths who attend religion classes. Reintroduction of religious education in schools and the contemporary evangelistic challenges facing the community of believers nowadays call for a closer inspection of catechesis and attention given to young people's problems and dilemmas. This kind of counseling may constitute help in making important personal decisions and choices concerning the area of faith and religiosity. This aim lies behind conducting research among secondary school students in Bydgoszcz. The report below focuses on analyzing the factor of religious knowledge and its potential influence on choices made in the field of faith.
