Summary/Abstract: The subject of the elaboration are the names of the three female religious congregations of Cracow: Augustinian, Franciscan Tertiary and Discalced Carmelites Sisters. The first part of the paper – theoretical – is an attempt to clarify the term “religious name”. In part two an analysis was performed of material which contained information on the motivation, origins, etymology, as well as the construction of discussed anthroponyms. The last part presents the predicates occurring as a component of Carmelite names.
