Studies on the Religious Names

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the state of research on the religious names in Polish onomastics (bothstudies relating to female and male names, as well as those in which one can find theoretical issues). The author supports the need to include religious names studies in the currentstream of interdisciplinary research. The second part of the article describes the comprehensive research on religious names, which were initiated at the Institute of Polish Philology ofthe Pedagogical University in Krakow.
