Summary/Abstract: The first string quartet is one of the four string quartets of Vlado S. Milosevic (1901–1990). Interesting for its characteristic shape and structure, but also the harmonic language, it represents his chamber opus composition intriguing enough for formal structural analysis, which would shed “more light” on those characteristics that were not included in previous analyses. Although the formal structural and harmonic characteristics have already been analysed (Andrija Tomasek, Ivan Čavlović), this work will also look into how the harmonic language and polyphonization of the quartet set and elements of retinued construction cycle, hoping to find answers to all the questions which would complete the picture of the author manuscript of Vlado S. Milosevic.
