Summary/Abstract: Modality in teaching solfeggio involves a treatment of auditve phenomena that are based on the specificity of Middle Age scales – modes. The method of interpretation and application of modes in solfeggio practice is diverse. Considering the approach to this issue, the analysis and critical interpretation of solfeggio literature as well as similar literature in other areas of music, such as harmony, polyphony and jazz music, indicates different interpretation and treatment of modality. Based on research and verification in practice, it would be useful to refine the educational task in the treatment in the field of teaching solfeggio and present applicable forms of work.
