Summary/Abstract: The article aims to make a general presentation of the financial and bankingterminology used in the Romanian language at the end of the 19th century. We took intoconsideration factors like the specialization degree of the terms, the preferred internalmeans to create them and the main sources of introducing new ones. One of the purposeswas to analyze the features of the specific concepts which belong and define this field, theirdynamics and evolution, as well as the causes which determined conceptual and thereforesemantic changes.
