Summary/Abstract: In this article, I focus on poetic material as a particular mode of language organization. Poetic abridgement condenses the linguistic picture of the world without reducing its complexity and internal dynamics. In the texts of such artists as Krynicki, Herbert, Szymborska, Świetlicki, and Bonowicz, we can observe interesting strategies of employing the word, which can be considered a peculiar language laboratory and perfect vocabulary-building material for use in the process of teaching Polish as a foreign language.
