Summary/Abstract: The author gives some views upon the relations between archival profession and society and respectively its policies, which he met in his long career of professional and practical experience in archival science. Also in active participation in dealing with archival professional and technical issues, as well as in creating, changing and commenting archival legislation and other legal acts, which regulate archival theory and practice on all levels. These experiences allow the author to present some views on the interdisciplinarity, internationality and building bridges, which developed between archives as independent cultural, scientific and educational institutions, which work on different levels, and society and politics.
